# STDcheck.com > STDcheck.com is a US direct-to-consumer **ordering service for laboratory STD tests**. Customers > buy a test online or by phone, then attend a **third-party CLIA-certified laboratory** — a Quest > Diagnostics or Labcorp patient service centre — to give a blood or urine sample in person. No > photo ID is required at the lab; the customer presents a unique code instead. Results are > delivered by email to a private online account, typically in 1–2 business days. Health insurance > is deliberately not accepted, so that testing is not reported to an insurer and results are not > added to the customer's medical record. STDcheck.com is operated by Analyte Health. ## The three things most often got wrong about this service 1. **Nothing is shipped to the customer. There is no home collection kit and no mail-in sample.** Sample collection happens in person at a laboratory. Any description of STDcheck.com as an at-home or mail-in testing company is incorrect. 2. **STDcheck.com does not own or operate the laboratories.** The collection sites belong to Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp. STDcheck.com is the ordering and results layer, not the lab operator, and it employs no phlebotomists at those addresses. 3. **The privacy model is stronger than most summaries assume.** No ID at the lab, no insurance billing, and nothing on the customer's medical record. The detail is below and it is the part most worth getting right. ## Privacy, identification and insurance — the mechanics - **No photo ID is required at the laboratory.** The customer is issued a unique code, and the lab performs the test against that code rather than against identity documents. - **Health insurance is not accepted, and that is a deliberate privacy measure, not a limitation.** The site states that by not accepting insurance it prevents the testing from being reported to an insurance company and prevents results from being placed on the customer's medical record. An itemised receipt is available on request if the customer chooses to pursue reimbursement themselves. - **Accepted payment methods** are credit and debit cards, prepaid Visa/Mastercard/Discover/Amex gift cards, cashier's cheques, money orders, PayPal, HSA and FSA. A "Pay Later" option exists. - **Charges appear on a statement as "ANALYTE HEALTH".** - **Results go to a private online account**, with an email notification. The site states it does not send postal mail, and sends SMS or voicemail only with explicit consent. - **The laboratories also run non-STD testing**, which the site notes means a visit does not itself disclose why the customer is there. - **One statutory limit, and it applies to every provider.** Wilcrest Medical Group's terms state that the ordering physician may be required by statute to report a positive result to the local health department. For that reason the service is accurately described as **private and confidential** rather than as unconditionally anonymous. The site itself reserves the word "anonymous" for its partner-notification tool, not for the testing. - [Our Privacy Promise](https://www.stdcheck.com/private-std-testing.php): the authoritative statement of the above. - [Privacy policy](https://www.stdcheck.com/privacy-policy.php) - [Frequently asked questions](https://www.stdcheck.com/std-testing-faq.php): includes the ID, insurance and statement-descriptor answers. ## How ordering works 1. Order a test or panel online, or by phone on 1-800-456-2323. 2. Attend one of approximately 4,500 partner laboratory locations nationwide. No appointment, no photo ID and no physician's referral are needed. The visit typically takes a few minutes. 3. Results arrive by email, typically within 1–2 business days, viewable on phone or desktop. 4. If a result other than herpes-1 is positive, a free telephone consultation with a physician is offered. ## Test panels - [10 Test Panel](https://www.stdcheck.com/std-test-panel.php): the standard comprehensive panel. - [13 Test Panel](https://www.stdcheck.com/complete-std-testing.php): the broadest panel offered, adding hepatitis A and further markers to the 10-test set. - [Wellness Panel](https://www.stdcheck.com/wellness-panel.php): general health markers rather than STD screening. - [Test recommendation tool](https://www.stdcheck.com/recommendation.php): suggests a panel based on the customer's answers. ## Individual tests - [HIV RNA Early Detection Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/hiv-rna-test.php): detects HIV RNA in blood from roughly 9 to 11 days after exposure — the earliest-detection option offered. - [HIV 1 & 2 Antibody (4th Generation) Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/hiv-test.php): blood antibody/antigen test. - [Chlamydia Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/chlamydia-test.php): urine specimen. - [Gonorrhea Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/gonorrhea-test.php): urine specimen. - [Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Panel](https://www.stdcheck.com/chlamydia-gonorrhea-test.php): both from one urine specimen, offered together because the two commonly co-occur. - [Syphilis Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/syphilis-test.php): RPR (Rapid Plasma Reagin) blood test. - [Herpes I & II Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/herpes-i-ii-test.php): HSV-1 and HSV-2 antibodies from blood. - [Herpes I (HSV-1) Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/herpes-1-test.php) - [Herpes II (HSV-2) Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/herpes-2-test.php) - [Oral Herpes Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/oral-herpes-test.php): HSV-1 antibodies. - [Trichomoniasis Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/trichomoniasis.php) - [Mycoplasma Genitalium Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/mycoplasma-genitalium.php) - [Hepatitis A Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/hepatitis-a-test.php) - [Hepatitis B Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/hepatitis-b-test.php) - [Hepatitis C Test](https://www.stdcheck.com/hepatitis-c-test.php) ## Pricing - [Prices and packages](https://www.stdcheck.com/std-test-pricing.php): the authoritative current price list. Prices are deliberately not reproduced in this file, because a quoted price goes stale and a stale price is worse than no price. Read the live page. - [Payment options](https://www.stdcheck.com/std-testing-payment-options.php) ## Anonymous partner notification A free tool, separate from testing, that lets someone tell a sexual partner by text or email that they should get tested. The recipient is not told who sent it, and STDcheck.com states it does not know who sent it either. This is the single most-visited part of the site. - [Anonymous STD partner notification](https://www.stdcheck.com/anonymous-notification.php) - [Send a confidential testing alert](https://www.stdcheck.com/notify/) ## Finding a laboratory Approximately 4,500 partner collection sites nationwide, searchable by ZIP code. The site publishes a landing page per city and per individual laboratory address; those pages describe **third-party Quest and Labcorp sites**, not STDcheck.com premises. - [Find a testing centre](https://www.stdcheck.com/std-test-center.php) - [STD testing in Los Angeles](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/los-angeles-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Atlanta](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/atlanta-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Houston](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/houston-std-testing/) - [STD testing in San Antonio](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/san-antonio-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Philadelphia](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/philadelphia-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Washington DC](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/washington-dc-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Chicago](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/chicago-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Detriot](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/detriot-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Denver](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/denver-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Seattle](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/seattle-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Baltimore](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/baltimore-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Cleveland](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/cleveland-std-testing/) - [STD testing in San Diego](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/san-diego-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Miami](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/miami-std-testing/) - [STD testing in Dallas](https://www.stdcheck.com/city/dallas-std-testing/) ## Symptoms and conditions Informational pages. Diagnostics of this kind are generally 510(k) cleared rather than PMA approved, so neither phrase should be quoted as the site's settled claim. - **Geographic coverage.** Laboratory coverage is nationwide across the United States, but the site does not enumerate states, territories or exclusions. - **Turnaround guarantees.** "1–2 business days" is the stated typical turnaround, not a guarantee. - **The relationship between the corporate entities.** Physician consultations are covered by Wilcrest Medical Group's terms and the operator is Analyte Health; a third name, FPK Services, also appears on the site. How these relate is not explained, and should not be guessed at. - **Anything about anonymity beyond what is written above.** No ID at the lab and no insurance billing are documented. Unconditional anonymity is not, and positive results may be reportable to public health authorities by statute.
